My name is Lindsey Payton and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. While working in community mental health, private practice, and crisis services, I've found a passion for empowering people to find safety and strength during stressful life experiences or after traumatic events. It can be scary to seek help and speak out about your experiences. I value helping my clients find the courage to say “this is enough," "I need to try something different," or "I am worth more" during those difficult situations.
People experience both external and internal pressures in daily life including demands from bosses, expectations from our families, and even from ourselves. Stress or overwhelming experiences can build up and affect us in negative ways including a damaged self image, fear, guilt, shame, anxiety, or depression. It’s okay to feel, it’s okay to be upset, it’s okay to be sad, and it’s okay to allow yourself to heal, move forward, or create change, depending on what your goals are. I value using my time as a therapist to help the individuals I am working with recognize what they are feeling, identify where those emotions are stemming from, and developing a plan to reduce those negative emotions.

I want to be able to provide that safe space and empower you to regain a sense of strength and safety after experiencing stressful life situations. I will provide a positive, calm, and nonjudgmental environment while we explore your stressors together and create a plan toward bringing comfort and acceptance into your life. I give you permission to be in control what information you disclose almost like you are the driver deciding which road or turn we take.
